The Good Old Days
Written: 1985
Released: Unreleased
Grandma says that when she was young
Girls were honest and sweet and
true
She says that the girls of today
Are wicked and free and
impure
But Grandpa can only smile
Because Grandpa knows very well
That
Grandma wouldn't have married him
If Grandma had had the pill
So
dance, dance for the good old days
When girls were tied to the sink
Dance,
dance for the good old days
When girls were not needed to
think
Grandma says that when she was young
Men were proud to go off to
war
They were proud to die for their country
To fight the good fight
without fear
But Grandpa can only smile
Dear Grandpa when he looks
back
To when Grandma grew a moustache
And wore shirts that were rather
black
So dance, dance for the good old days
When men were so proud to
die
Dance, dance for the good old days
When men were too dumb to ask
why
Grandma says that when she was young
People worked hard for their
pay
Today they all want more for less
They're all communists anyway
But
Grandpa can only smile
As he listens to his wife
For Grandpa knows that
Grandma
Has done sod all all of her life
So dance, dance for the good
old days
When the poor gave all they could give
Dance, dance for the good
old days
When the poor were just happy to live
I'd dance, I'd dance
for the good old days
If I thought that we had moved on
I'd dance, I'd
dance for the good old days
If I thought that those days were gone
